Matos v. Norfolk Southern (Ga.)

Railroads are wholly responsible for the negligence of the contract van/taxi drivers who transport employees to and from home terminals.

Engineer Alejandro Matos injured his back and shoulder while being transferred in a PTI van, to home terminal from train.

PTI and the Railroad denied that the PTI driver was negligent in any way or manner.

In this case the inward and outward facing onboard camera showed that the PTI driver was just not paying attention.

The Columbus, GA jury awarded Alex Matos $5,500,000 for his damages.
